What to Expect
If you’ve never been to one of our Sunday Gatherings and you’re considering coming, here’s what you can expect…
grace and hospitality. Whether you’ve never been to church, it’s been a while, or you’re used to particular kind of church, it’s natural to feel a little anxious when trying something new. You will not be singled out, and we do not expect our guests to contribute a tithe or offering. We don’t always recognize the first-time visitors because many of the people who come are still fairly new, so feel free to tell us, “This is my first time,” and we’ll guide you in!
A casual environment. Our church community takes God and his Word seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously! We don’t want you to be any different with us than you are at work or at home, so dress as you like and come as you are. You can grab a hot cup of free coffee at our coffee stand and sit wherever you’d like.
A message of hope. Our Sunday Gatherings are simple in form: centered on God’s grace and driven by God’s word. We will sing songs, pray, enjoy communion, and hear about God’s love and grace from the Christian scriptures. Simply put, the purpose of our Sunday Gatherings is to remember, celebrate, and respond to who God is, what he has done, and all he has promised.
A fun, safe, and friendly environment for kids. Kids love learning about Jesus at King’s Cross Church! If you bring your kids with you on Sunday, you can check them in with our safe and secure check in process. Babies and toddlers are cared for by loving volunteers. Children in grades K through five can enjoy learning about Jesus with others their age. All of our children’s ministry volunteers must pass thorough background checks.
Everyone is welcome, so come with your questions and doubts. Our Sunday Gatherings are a great entry point for someone who is seeking, skeptical, or curious. We welcome both believers and skeptics to explore their honest questions about God and Christianity. Our sincere desire is to thoughtfully explore those questions alongside you. Our leadership team is always available after our gatherings and throughout the week for people to ask questions. No scripts. Nothing off limits. Just honest answers to thoughtful questions. Skeptics are welcome. Seriously!
